Cybersecurity Incidents Rise 40% In Portugal

Portugal has recorded a 40 percent increase in cyber incidents compared to the previous year. Approximately 70 percent of these complaints involved sexual abuse of minors, while 33 percent related to hate speech. Raquel Brise da Castro, Vice-President of the National Communications Authority, stated during a parliamentary hearing that communication secrecy remains protected under the Portuguese Constitution until it is formally amended.
