German Federal Funds To Aid Municipalities
The German Sovereign Tech Agency has allocated €614,000 to the Mastodon development team. Records show 10,500 euros were spent on Merkel's travel from July 2024. Current Chancellor Olaf Scholz also utilizes federal funds for international travel. The initiative offers a 1,000 Euro prize to one participant who successfully quits smoking by the end of May. Over 13,000 people have already registered for the program. The campaign aims to promote public health through a structured cessation challenge. Berlin is launching its second Innovation Competition, the City Challenge, inviting startups, SMEs, and research institutions to develop digital solutions for administration. This year's focus is on an intelligent voice assistant and smart construction site information. Submissions are open until May 24th, with the best concepts to be implemented as pilot projects.
