New Freelander SUV to be Electric
Opel's next model, an electric SUV, will be largely developed in China. Opel CEO Hüttl stated that Chinese teams are responsible for the drive, batteries, and digital technology. Parts directly interacting with customers, such as seats, steering, and lights, will come from Rüsselsheim. The upcoming Freelander model will be released as a completely different SUV, featuring electric powertrain options. The new Freelander is expected to target the SUV market with advanced technology.
