China Achieves Mass Production of High-End MEMS Test Probes
Testing probe demand is increasing as quantities reach tens of thousands due to advanced technology shifts. While revenue for structural components has grown significantly, high fixed costs are driving down gross margins. The company plans to expand production capacity significantly after 2023. The technology shares fundamental origins with existing MEMS technology, making technical differentiation difficult. Downstream customer bases for these probes overlap significantly with consumer electronics, semiconductors, and human-robotics sectors. Current expansion in precision machining capacity can be directly applied to the entire MEMS system to meet rising product demand. Bluetooth technology firm Bluetooth New Finance has secured a competitive advantage in high-end MEMS test probes. The company is targeting high-frequency, high-speed M9 and M10 grade probes.
