Superjet 100 Certification Expected In August

Certification for the Superjet 100 aircraft is planned to be completed in August. Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Olikhanov stated that certification for the aircraft is expected to be completed by that date. The announcement follows discussions regarding domestic aviation responses to global aviation trends. The domestically produced Superjet aircraft has successfully completed testing in heavy rain conditions. The engine and entire airframe are reportedly close to receiving the necessary certification for passenger transport. Without this document, the aircraft cannot be cleared for commercial flights. The destination for the first flight of this import-substituted jet remains unknown and depends on the purchasing company.
