Denmark Focuses On Biological Solutions For Green Transition

Biological manufacturing is rapidly integrating into various aspects of production and daily life, utilizing green and low-carbon technologies for bioprocessing and transformation. In 2025, China's biological manufacturing industry reached a scale of 1.1 trillion yuan, with its bio-fermentation product output exceeding 70% of the global total. Tea grower Chen Hui was observed performing spraying operations following mechanical harvesting. Green and low-carbon technologies are advancing biological manufacturing and conversion processes, with applications increasingly integrated into daily life. Tan Tianwei, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, stated that the 15th Five-Year Plan is a critical stage for cultivating future industries. He noted that achievements in fields like synthetic biology and biological protein design have received Nobel Prizes, and biological manufacturing's underlying technology is advancing. The industry's technical system is currently undergoing an upgrade as the strategic value of biological manufacturing increases. Bio-fermentation products currently account for over 70% of global output.
