Oracle Acquires 2.8 Gigawatts of Fuel Cell Systems
Oracle is acquiring up to 2.8 gigawatts of fuel cell systems from developer Bloom Energy to power its AI data centers. One gigawatt of this capacity is estimated to be capable of powering approximately 500,000 US homes for one year. The International Energy Agency projects that electricity demand for AI data centers will double between 2024 and 2030. This move aims to address the increasing energy requirements of large-scale artificial intelligence infrastructure.
