Pterosaur Flight Capabilities Tested in Wind Tunnel
The Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone has commenced operations for its first three buildings. Hong Kong has opened three new buildings designated for human capital, funding, and data. Professor Michael Pisman of the Chinese University of Hong Kong's School of Life Sciences has shared new research findings regarding pterosaurs. The study reveals that these winged dinosaurs utilized advanced aerodynamics for flight. The research is based on fossil evidence analyzed by the professor. This discovery provides new insights into the biological mechanics of prehistoric flight. Professor Man Ka-ki describes new findings regarding pterosaur aerodynamic capabilities. Research indicates a shift from the previously understood two-pair wing configuration to a single-pair model. Fossil discoveries in Liaoning and Hebei provinces in China support these evolutionary changes.

“We want to go deeper at the Chinese University to understand more about these early non-avian animals, why they could fly, and how their flight functions evolved.”
“But why do this? Because we want to do many, many, many different tests to understand why the airflow hits the liquid surface and allows it to fly.”
“We are not using a regular wind tunnel, but other advanced research that hasn't been done. At the Chinese University, we've spent years discovering how the wing allows for flight.”
