Bookstore To Close, Audiobooks Market Booms
Audible has opened its first bookstore, called Audible Story House, in New York City. The store is dedicated entirely to audiobooks. Visitors will find shelves and tables with audio cartridges that can be inserted into a player to listen to the content. A bookstore will remain open for one more month and will host author meetings. The audiobook market in the United States is experiencing rapid growth, with sales reaching $2.2 billion in 2024, nearly double the figure from five years prior.
