Singapore Launches Cooperative Sector Leadership Program

Singapore is building AI capabilities to create better job opportunities for workers. Global firms including Google have established research labs in the country. An increasing number of fast-growing startups are also joining the sector, according to the report. The national strategy focuses on both supporting firm adoption and worker preparation. Singapore's AI strategy is attracting global firms to establish regional bases. Google has selected the country for its first Southeast Asia research lab. Efforts are being made to prepare workers for new opportunities within the industry. A pilot study titled Loving, which involved 36 families, will be expanded to 624 families from median and lower income brackets. The study tests three caregiver-focused programs: home-based intervention, a digital parenting program, and an e-learning course. The programs aim to provide preventative mechanisms for child development. The program aims to equip staff with skills to lead with integrity, collaborate across sectors, harness digital tools, and measure impact. The Singapore University of Social Sciences is partnering with the Singapore National Cooperative Federation (SNCF) to deliver the program, with SNCF aiming to develop 150 leaders over the next decade.
