Children In Remote Vietnamese Villages Face Limited Connectivity
A report indicates that 40% of Vietnamese children feel unsafe online. Over 70% of children surveyed have experienced undesirable encounters while using the internet. The data covers a user base of approximately 94,000 internet users in Vietnam. The findings highlight risks associated with negative content and offensive language on social media. Associate Professor and Doctor Nu Anh Chi advised the Vietnam Committee for the Protection of Children to strengthen cooperation and skills in implementing child rights policies. Experts noted that children are increasingly vulnerable to digital addiction and online bullying due to platform designs intended for long-term engagement. The discussion said moving from strict monitoring to collaborative guidance between parents and children to avoid resistance.
