Singapore Seniors To Use AI Companion NANA
Seniors in Singapore can now use a new AI companion named NANA, which stands for Neighborhood Assistant for Nurturing Aging. The tool is designed to help elderly residents feel heard and understood. It also aims to ease the workload for social workers in the region. Social Service Agency Lyons Befrienders has partnered with an AI firm to develop NANA, an AI companion for seniors. The tool currently engages seniors for just over three minutes per call. It is expected to reach up to 1,000 users. The initiative aims to address the aging population and growing demand for community-based care while easing social worker workloads. This follows discussions regarding the Reach Community Services Project aimed at providing long-term developmental support for children. Social service agency Lions Befriend, in partnership with an AI firm, has developed an AI companion named NANA to engage seniors.
