Spanish Footballers Association Negotiates League Start Date
The Spanish Footballers Association has denied claims made by La Liga president Javier Tebas regarding the league's start date. Tebas stated yesterday that the league is set to begin on August 14. The union clarified that no agreement has been finalized as of today. This follows a new FIFA rule proposed by President Gianni Infantino regarding player conduct and hand gestures. The Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) is negotiating with La Liga regarding the start date for the upcoming season. AFE General Secretary Diego Rivas seeks to begin the league on August 22. La Liga currently intends to start on August 15. The discrepancy involves concerns for players participating in international tournaments who may reach semifinals or finals.
