Andy Donaldson completed a 55-kilometre swim down the Ord River in Western Australia's East Kimberley region. The swimmer successfully navigated the river, which contains freshwater crocodiles, to set a new record. Residents of Kununurra were present at the finish line as the sun set. The 35-year-old ultramarathon swimmer completed the 55-kilometre swim from the Lake Argyle Dam wall to Kununurra. He finished the challenge in 11 hours and 51 minutes. He is the first man to complete the swim and the fastest recorded time. Ultramarathon swimmer Andy Donaldson set a new world record in the East Kimberley's Ord River. This performance broke the previous inaugural record of 16 hours. Donaldson described the swim as his longest solo effort, noting he was running out of energy as he approached the finish line.
