Russian Football Premier League Starts 28th Round
Russian Football Premier League President Alexander Laev announced plans to organize a pre-season tournament. Laev stated that the organization is currently in the early stages of planning. The league has previously conducted a winter cup since 2023. FIFA is introducing a rule for the upcoming World Cup that prohibits players from covering their mouths with their hands or shirts during altercations. Players who violate this rule may receive a red card. The regulation follows an incident in the Champions League involving a Benfica player from Argentina who received a six-match suspension for racist behavior. Since 2023, the RPL has held a winter cup in the United Arab Emirates, with CSKA being the most recent winner. The schedule includes two matches, featuring Krylia Sovetov against Spartak at 17:00 Moscow time. Lokomotiv is also scheduled to play at 19:30 Moscow time.
