China Wins Women's Synchronized Diving Gold
World champion synchronized swimmer Alexander Maltsev will travel to China for the third stage of the World Cup as a coach. He will coach the mixed duet of Vladimir Pershina and Arina Tumkina. Russian national team head coach Svetlana Romashina described Maltsev as a creative coach and choreographer. Maltsev previously announced his decision to suspend his competitive career to focus on coaching. Valeria Plekhanova achieved a fourth-place result in the technical program at the synchronized swimming World Cup stage currently held in China. Another Russian athlete, Aleksandra Zavyalova, placed fifth in the same competition. The event also featured Russian athlete Alexandra Zavyalova, who placed fifth. The Chinese duo of Wang Zongyuan and Zheng Jiu'en won the men's synchronized 3m springboard gold medal at the World Aquatics Championships.
