Polish Cup Final Features Lower League Upsets
The final of the Polish Cup has been moved to the National Stadium in Warsaw. Górnik Zabrze and Raków Częstochowa will compete for the trophy on May 2nd. The event is anticipated to generate excitement and is described as the 'Cup of a Thousand Teams, a Thousand Memories, a Thousand Stories'. The Polish Cup final saw a match where a first-division team, Widzew, lost to a team two leagues lower, KKSM Kalisz, after a 5-5 draw. Widzew was down 3-0 within 20 minutes but managed to equalize in added time before losing on penalties. Legia Warsaw won the final last year 4-3 against Pogoń. Lech Poznań and Górnik Zabrze have also recently participated in finals.
