Veterinarians at Ocean Park successfully operated on a cow-nose ray to save it from a rare storm of rupture. The 20-year-old ray had fish and squid parts leaking from its body cavity. The surgery lasted two hours. The procedure took place in late March during a routine health examination. Experts believe the surgery may represent a world-first surgical achievement for the species.
