Excavation fronts are currently active in the main 27 km gallery despite technical challenges including asbestos gas. The last diaphragm for the connection galleries to the historical line toward Novi Ligure was demolished on April 27. Officials expect the demolition of a 7 km diaphragm to occur in mid-May.
