5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Recorded Near Kathia
A 5.1 magnitude earthquake occurred near Kathia with an estimated depth of approximately 10 kilometers. Earlier reports indicated a 4.7 magnitude tremor in the same area two hours prior. The station is currently awaiting further eyewitness reports regarding the impact. The current 5.1 reading is the first measurement received by the station and is not yet considered final. Officials are expected to review the data as seismograph readings continue to fluctuate. Previous readings had indicated a 4.7 magnitude event with no reported damages.
