Archaeologists Identify Elite 2025 Discoveries In China
Wang Wei, a member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, stated that 2025 has been a year for archaeology. The findings also include the Yue State capital in Shaoxing, Zhejiang, and the Kuaiji Commandery from the Han and Six Dynasties periods. The National Cultural Heritage Administration held a meeting in Beijing to present the 2025 Top Ten Archaeological Discoveries. The 20 shortlisted projects cover fields including human origins, civilization origins, and urban archaeology. Presenters must explain their findings within 20 minutes and answer expert questions. The session includes reports on the Changbai Mountain rescue archaeology project in Jilin Province. New archaeological sites have been identified in China, including the Puding Chuantong ruins in Guizhou and the Fushui wood burial sites in Guangxi.
