Uranium Spontaneously Emitting Energy Discovered
A scientist discovered that uranium was spontaneously emitting energy, even in the dark. This radiation, now known as radioactivity, was observed as a faint smudge on a photographic plate. This marked the first hint of energy emerging from within the atom.
