Data Center Operations Raise Local Surface Temperatures
A study of 8,400 data centers by University of Cambridge researchers found that operations increase surrounding surface temperatures by an average of 2 degrees Celsius, with some areas rising over 9 degrees. This heat extends up to 10km from the facilities. The study notes that 340 million people globally live within these affected radii. The data center project scale is estimated at 220 trillion KRW.
