Fractal Patterns Aid Relaxation and Healing
Fractal patterns found in nature, such as clouds, rivers, and coastlines, have a and measurable effect on relaxation. Studies show that patients recovering from surgery experienced faster healing and required less pain medication when their hospital rooms overlooked natural scenes. Exposure to nature, even for as little as 15 minutes a day, or viewing images of natural scenes, can activate the body's relaxation response. Researchers are exploring ways to incorporate fractals into art and music.
