Venomous Snakes Appear In Tatra Mountains
The Mroźna Cave in the Tatra Mountains has officially reopened to the public. The site had been closed for several months to allow bats to winter undisturbed. The reopening follows the conclusion of the seasonal hibernation period. Naturalists from the Tatra National Park are warning of increased sightings of Poland's only venomous snake species in the Tatra Mountains. The snakes are appearing more frequently on trails, rocks, meadows, and near tourist stalls due to warming spring temperatures. Park officials are advising visitors to remain vigilant as the reptiles are easily disturbed. The warning comes amid seasonal activity increases in May.
