Researchers Develop Space Travel Nutrient System
A research group led by Professor Rodorigo Ladesma Amaro has created a synthetic system combining cyanobacteria and yeast. The cyanobacteria absorb sunlight and CO2 to produce sugar, which the yeast then consumes to convert into useful compounds.
