Gilded Icon Fragment Discovered In Moscow
Archaeologists discovered a gilded silver fragment of a crown or cutout ornament from an icon casing during excavations in Kremlin Square. Investigators believe the piece may have belonged to a small icon of the Virgin of Vladimir measuring approximately 20 centimeters.
