New Method Developed To Accelerate Wound Healing
Researchers have identified a specific genetic switch that controls plant frost resistance. This discovery allows for the use of genome editing to accelerate the development of crop varieties that can sprout earlier in the year. The research suggests that these varieties can better utilize moisture in the spring compared to traditional breeding methods. The findings aim to overcome challenges posed by temperature stress such as heat or frost. A research group has developed a method to make large bleeding injuries close faster. The study, reported in the journal Nature, focuses on the role of blood platelets in the healing process. Researchers noted that more study is required to obtain a complete picture of the mechanism.
