Man Dies After Bornavirus Infection In Unterallgäu
A person has died from a Borna virus infection in Unterallgäu, according to the local health department. The virus is transmitted by infected bank voles or their excrement. Authorities are currently investigating how the infection occurred. Human-to-human transmission of the virus does not occur. The Bornavirus is primarily transmitted by field mice, though authorities stated such occurrences are extremely rare.
