US Supreme Court Allows New House Seat Bid
Alabama House Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter stated that Republicans have an opportunity to win all seven of the state's congressional seats. Ledbetter noted that the current supermajority reflects the voice of the people. He commented that the Supreme Court has effectively removed race as a consideration for drawing congressional districts. The court overturned a lower court ruling that had ordered the state to redraw maps. It is unclear if any new maps have been passed.
