Montgomery County Bans Masks For Immigration Agents
Montgomery County counsel unanimously passed enforcement works that ban most officers, including federal immigration agents, from wearing masks or face coverings while on duty. The measure includes exceptions and requires officers to clearly identify themselves. A process for residents to file complaints regarding rule violations was also established. Supporters stated the measure aims to increase transparency and could serve as a model for other Maryland jurisdictions. The policy will expire once a statewide law takes effect later this year. Officers must clearly identify themselves under the new rules.
