King County Council Member Proposes Dissolving Homelessness Authority
King County Council member Rod Dummowski has introduced legislation to end the county's participation in the King County Regional Homelessness Authority. The proposal follows an audit revealing $13 million in mismanaged taxpayer funds and a growing $45 million deficit. Dummowski co-sponsored the legislation with Reagan Dunne. He stated the agency has had too many chances to succeed. Seattle City Council member Maritza Rivera is leading a similar effort at the city level. Council Member Bob Kettle described the existing ordinance as a failure.
