Iran Warns US Companies Over Strait of Hormuz Cooperation
Donald Trump has named a new initiative Project Freedom to ensure the safe exit of vessels and crews. A US official stated that President Trump's initiative does not currently include US warships escorting vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, according to the Wall Street Journal. Axios reported that the US Navy will instead provide ships with information regarding safe passages through the strait that are not threatened by Iranian mines. The report comes amid tensions regarding the US-Israel conflict with Iran. The initiative reportedly involves over 100 aircraft and 15,000 military personnel. The operation aims to safely guide vessels from multiple countries to restore global commercial flows. This measure follows Iranian restrictions on maritime traffic during the ongoing conflict involving the United States and Israel.
