ICE Agent Charged in Minneapolis Shooting
An Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer was indicted Monday on five charges connected to a nonfatal shooting in Minnesota. A state prosecutor stated that an ICE agent fired through a residence's front door, with the bullet striking a man's leg and embedding in a child's bedroom wall. ICE agent Christian Castro faces four second-degree assault charges and a false reporting charge. The charges stem from a January shooting incident involving two Venezuelan immigrants in Minnesota. ICE officer Christian Castro faces four assault counts for shooting Venezuelan immigrant Julio Sosa-Celis through a closed door during Operation Metro Surge in January. Children were present inside the residence during the incident. The incident took place during operations related to Trump's immigration policies.
