ICE Admits Collecting Data On Potential Protesters

Mastodon Washington 1h1h Impact 7
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has denied having a database of protesters. However, a letter sent to Congress may shed more light on the matter. The agency stated no such database is maintained. The former head of ICE sent an unpublicized letter to Congress stating the agency collects data on individuals suspected of potentially unlawful activity, which could include protesters. The scope and purpose of this data collection were not fully detailed.
