HUD Updates Environmental Review Requirements For Multifamily Housing
The Department of Housing and Urban Development announced updates to environmental review requirements for multifamily housing. The Federal Housing Administration is removing standalone railroad vibration assessment requirements to reduce costs and complexity for lenders and developers. The update also restores prior policy for pressurized pipelines and updates existing standards. The news release was issued on May 4, 2026.
