Gold Star Families March In Chicago
Senator Graciela Guzman announced plans for multiple mass protests and marches in Chicago to advocate for workers rights. Teachers acting as chaperones for students urged thousands to keep marching and shut down operations. They see it as an opportunity to teach students about the history of Chicago and labor rights movements. The marchers expressed a desire for a better life, feeling that the working class is being deprived of the American dream. May Day events in Chicago culminated in a march through downtown and a rally in Daily Plaza. Thousands of participants, including many of the area's labor unions and immigrant rights groups, took part. The focus was on the importance of immigrant workers to the U.S. economy and the daily needs of immigrants and their families. Workers gathered in Chicago to advocate for democratic expansion and workers' rights across all industries.
