Iran and US Negotiators Discussed Previous Talks
Iran is reportedly seeking a formula or framework to present to the United States for potential negotiations. While not formal allies, Iran and Russia maintain a close defense relationship. Iranian negotiators are seeking to gain an advantage and maneuver in ongoing talks, believing that time is on their side and not that of Donald Trump. Each party possesses its own leverage, pushing them towards natural negotiations. Turkey has condemned Iranian airspace violations, while Iran is seeking rights amidst ongoing talks with the US and consultations with Oman. The Hormuz crisis is impacting European energy supplies. The Iranian government has also extended an offer to engage in talks.
