Japan Deploys Air Defense Missiles Near Taiwan

The United States is attempting to mend diplomatic relationships with military-ruled Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso. JNIM appears to be collaborating with the Tuareg separatist group, the Azawad Liberation Front (FLA), in northern Mali. Gunfire was reported in the region near Bamako during the night. A suicide truck targeted the residence of Malian Defense Minister General Sadio Kamara in Katim. Coordinated attacks were also reported in Bamako, Sévaré, Gao, and Akidda. The strikes targeted the homes of the President and the Defence Minister, as well as Bamako Airport. The military reported that terrorist groups targeted the residence of General Simogoita. No specific casualties or immediate consequences were confirmed in the initial report. The FLA (Azawad Liberation Front) rebellion has claimed responsibility for seizing the city of Kidal in the far north. Other affected areas included Kati, Segou, Mopti, Gao, and Kidal. The coordination of the attacks suggests a high level of planning by the perpetrators. Japan's Defense Minister Seiji Koga is advancing the deployment of air defense missile units on Yonaguni Island, located approximately 100 kilometers from Taiwan.
