Woman Claims Government Validated Modern Slavery Status
A Home Office specialist welcomed a decision regarding a case involving allegations of sexual exploitation and trafficking. The victim reported being subjected to sexual exploitation in the UK and overseas over a three-year period. The decision may influence how police investigate similar cases. Three other women are currently awaiting a final decision in related processes. Rachel Lowe, one of over 150 individuals who have made allegations against the late Sir Mohammed Al Fayed, has spoken regarding her experiences. Al Fayed died in 2023 at the age of 94. Lowe discussed the government's agreement regarding the costs associated with her case. The British government stated that aspects of modern slavery, including coercion, deception, and exploitation, may apply to allegations made by Rachel Lowe. The allegations include sexual assault, rape, sexual exploitation, and human trafficking.
