Romania Seeks US LNG Partnership
President Nicușordan announced plans for an economic and financial partnership with the World Bank to develop reactors 3 and 4 at the Cernavodă nuclear plant. The president also noted a widespread interest in decoupling gas supplies from Russia. He stated that the United States is interested in entering the European market with liquefied natural gas. The discussion also touched on the need for economic funds dedicated to innovation. Romania is moving forward with plans for the rehabilitation of Cernavodă Reactor 1 and the construction of Reactors 3 and 4. The initiative involves a partnership with the World Bank for nuclear energy investments. This follows a decision by the Constitutional Court regarding parliamentary authority. The announcement was made during a press conference regarding the Three Seas Initiative business forum.
