Harrods Owner Linked To Sexual Exploitation
The late owner of the luxury department store Harrods has been formally identified as an abuser. Her account is among hundreds of allegations of rape and sexual assault made against the Egyptian businessman. Trained specialists are currently examining the case. The Home Office found the woman had been subjected to sexual exploitation in the UK and overseas over a three-year period. The British government has formally acknowledged that a woman was a victim of modern slavery involving the late former Harrods owner Mohammed El Fayed. The victim, identified as Rachel Lowe, was allegedly trafficked and abused by El Fayed and his brother Sulla. The brothers co-owned the luxury department store in London. Survivor Rachel Lowe stated she feels vindication by the ruling. At least four other women have applied to the Home Office and are awaiting similar decisions.
