Polish Prime Minister Thanks Services For Poczabut Release
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk thanked those who contributed to the release of Andrzej Poczabut from a Belarusian prison. The Prime Minister noted that the operation was not simple and required non-standard actions from the services. The release of Andrzej Poczobud is attributed to the successful actions of Polish diplomatic services and other agencies. The event is viewed as both a success for Polish services and a response to movements from Belarus. Polish Prime Minister stated that the release of Poczabut was not possible without the consistent stance of five consecutive Polish governments and the engagement of allies from the United States and other countries. The release was described as part of a multi-country package operation. Poland maintained its stance against easing European Union sanctions as long as Belarusian activist Siarhei Poczabut remains imprisoned.
