Theater Groups To Demonstrate In Hannover
Theater groups from Lower Saxony are scheduled to demonstrate in Hannover today. Participants include members and friends of the Landesbühne Nord from Wilhelmshaven. The protesters are demanding increased public funding for theater operations. Olaf Streep, director of Landesbühne Nord-Emden/Wilhelmshaven, stated that public funding levels have remained stagnant. Streep noted that the organizations cannot cover rising collective bargaining wage increases without state support. Olaf Streb, the director of Landesbühne Nord, stated that public financing has remained stagnant despite these rising expenses.
