Ukraine Seeks Seizure Of Panormitis Ship

A diplomatic crisis has emerged between Ukraine and Israel regarding a ship carrying alleged stolen wheat. Ukraine claims the vessel is transporting stolen grain and requested that Israel turn the ship back. Israel responded by stating that diplomacy should not be conducted via social media. Israeli media reports indicate that the cargo from a specific ship has not yet been unloaded. Four grain-laden vessels from occupied Ukrainian territories have arrived in Israel this year. Ukraine maintains that Russia has been seizing and selling grain from occupied territories for years. The Ukrainian prosecutor's office claims Russia has exported over 1.7 million tons of stolen agricultural products valued at approximately 390 million euros since the invasion began. The Prosecutor General of Ukraine has requested that Israel detain the vessel Panormitis. An Ukrainian court issued an order for the seizure of the unit as part of an investigation. The grain was allegedly illegally exported from a closed port in the temporarily occupied territory.
