Viktor Orban To Leave Parliament
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated on Facebook that he will not be attending the parliament as he is not needed there currently. He intends to concentrate on reorganizing the national camp in Hungary. Orbán's conservative Tissot party secured a two-thirds majority in the recent parliamentary election, with Manjar set to replace Orbán. Viktor Orban's nationalist Fidesz party lost the elections in April, ending his 16-year tenure as Prime Minister, though he was re-elected as a parliamentarian. The decision on whether he will remain party leader will be made at a party conference in June. Meanwhile, fighting continues in the Middle East despite a previously announced three-week ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon. Israel reported killing 15 Hezbollah fighters in multiple operations after Hezbollah attacked Israel with drones and rockets.
