Singapore Minister Completes Three-Day Thailand Visit
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi traveled to Thailand to meet with Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. He is scheduled to meet with Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and his defense counterpart. Chan will also call on former Thai Privy Councilor General Prajod Chanusha during the trip. The visit follows the recent inauguration of Minang Klein as president. This political transition occurred after legislative elections that critics described as neither free nor equitable. The current regime faces international isolation and criticism from the ASEAN bloc. The visit aims to bolster ties despite regional concerns regarding military influence in the area. Discussions will occur ahead of the 70th anniversary of relations in 2036. Singaporean official Mr. Chan completed a three-day official visit to Thailand to explore deeper cooperation.
