Petro Urges Energy Transition In Colombia
A radio host in Bogota rejected claims made by President Gustavo Petro regarding cocaine trafficking. Petro stated last night that Ecuadorian ports are the largest exporters of cocaine. The broadcaster characterized these statements as half-truths used as smoke screens to divert attention from the impact of terrorism and the failure of the Total Peace policy. The broadcaster alleged that the government suppressed United Nations data identifying Colombia as the world's largest producer and exporter of cocaine. A Colombian broadcaster reported that the government of Gustavo Petro has not addressed a United Nations report from November of last year. The broadcaster stated that the government has sidelined this information because it disagreed with the calculations.
