Russian Forces Combat Hundreds Of Drones
Poland has confirmed a violation of its airspace involving non-combat decoy drones. Norway is conducting an investigation into recent incidents while Denmark labels the activity as hybrid warfare. NATO forces have deployed F-16s from Poland, F-35s from the Netherlands, and various reconnaissance aircraft to protect Polish airspace. The Ukrainian monitoring project Dnipro-Assent claims the drones were launched from the Shatalovo airfield in the Smolensk region. This incident is described as the largest scale violation of Polish airspace since the start of the Russian war against Ukraine. One drone fell in territory approximately 890 kilometers from Shatalovo and another fell just over 600 kilometers from the Belarusian border. The Russian Ministry of Defense claims the Gerberk drone has a maximum range of 700 kilometers.
