Tunisia Parliament Approves Renewable Energy Agreements
Tunisia's Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdel Hafid, stated that today's general session of Parliament is dedicated to approving five new bills. While local companies face difficult financing conditions, foreign investors from France, Norway, and the United Arab Emirates have benefited from external financing with interest rates not exceeding 4%. Zouhair El-Sghayeri, chair of the Budget and Finance Committee in the Tunisian Parliament, intends to present a new law proposal to the general assembly during June or July. The proposed legislation aims to boost productivity, manage subsidies, and improve the business climate to attract investment. El-Sghayeri expressed hope for support from deputies given the importance of securing the investment environment.
